- Participants will know that there is strong grounding in international law for the respect for women's human rights;
- Participants will understand how IHL and HR laws and standards are relevant to PSOs;
- Participants will understand that women and men in affected populations may not always respond or react in ways that they will predict (or that peacekeepers would assume are 'normal');
- Participants will have an understanding of gender-based violence as both a violation of human rights and a reflection of inequality between women and men;
- Participants will understand that respect for women's human rights has both individual and collectives implications (for their personal behaviour as well as the programmes and policies of their organisation).
