When life begins to return to "normal", different members of the affected community will have different needs, and bear different scars, based on their sex. To be successful, post-conflict reconstruction efforts must integrate a gender perspective in their actions and interventions.

Goals
  • Participants will be aware that post-conflict situations and post-conflict reconstruction efforts have gender dimensions.
  • Participants will understand that being aware of the gendered impacts and consequences of post-conflict situations enhances peacekeepers' ability to design and implement appropriate actions and interventions.
